At the Chemistry Course Union, we strive to bridge the gap between new undergraduate chemistry students, upper-level undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty that will ultimately be involved in their day-to-day lives at UBC Okanagan. We are an organization run by chemistry students for chemistry students, and provide a lengthy list of services to help our members acquire chemistry-related skills, build friendships, and socialize with their TAs and professors on a level outside the lecture hall. Some of these services include:

  • Free one-on-one tutoring from the executive CCU members
  • Sale of safety goggles at a cheaper rate than the UBCO bookstore
  • Catered mid-term study sessions
  • Special events and Social gatherings (Pub Crawls, BBQs)
  • Career Development Opportunities (Seminar Speaker Series, Career Days, etc.)

Another advantage of the CCU is that it allows you to get to know the individuals that will be teaching your chemistry labs, because most of the CCU executives will also be your lab instructors. So, if you’re looking to become a member, need some help with a lab assignment, have a funny (or nerdy) joke to share, or simply want to chat about what we do, you can come find us in our office in SCI 233B.
